Biography:
Raymond Nchor is a Ph.D. holder in
mechanical engineering, with specialization
in rail transportation, technology transfer,
maintenance of public infrastructure & industrial
plants and international development. He is
the CEO of International Maintenance Consulting
(IMC) and the African Railways Development Services
(ARDS), a lecturer and the author of several
joint-publications in universities and the book
PARABLES OF MILK AND MIGHT: Development
Political Satire – The Voices of the Affected,

The
African-American owned publishing company, the
“blue ocean press”, which published
this book in June 2007, in the US and Japan,
has decided to get it translated into Portuguese,
Spanish, French, Chinese and several other languages,
so that it can be used in schools and colleges
throughout Africa, the Caribbean, the US, South
American countries and other countries worldwide.
For the authorship of his parables, he adopted
the pen name “RAN”. Under the contract
of the German Agency for Technical Cooperation
(GTZ), he wrote a “Handbook for the Training
of Managers of Industrial Energy Systems in
Developing Countries, in order to sensitize
them on the Importance of Maintenance”.
GTZ
experts used book for training in Asia, Africa
and South America. He has also written a number
of proposals, which include the following: (a)
the establishment of the University for Rural
Development in Africa (b) the establishment
of the “African Diaspora University (ADU)”
(c) the Development of Rail Transportation as
a Nucleus of Environment-Friendly Inter-Modal
Transportation System for the Integration and
Development of Marketing Opportunities in Africa,
in the 21st Century (d) the Tema University
for Technological Innovation (Ghana). He also
submitted copies of a proposal in 2006 to the
Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transportation Authority
(MARTA, the Major of Atlanta and the Governor
of Georgia for the expansion of public transportation
systems in the city of Atlanta and other cities
in the US. Articles on this subject were also
sent to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the
Washington Post and the Arizona Republic.
Dr.
Nchor is ideas-driven, a strategic thinker,
a powerful communicator and a motivator of people
for problem solving. He has delivered lectures
in several universities, research centres and
international development organizations in Germany
since 1987. He is a member of the International
Development Expert Group, “Forum One World”
which is based in Frankfurt, Germany, a member
of the Environmental Expert Group “AGENDA
21” established by the Minister of Economics,
Environment and Transportation in the German
Federal State of Hesse, the World University
Service (German Chapter), the Friendship Circle
of the Technical University of Darmstadt and
the founder and executive member of the non-profit
organization “Society for the Promotion
of Rural Development in Africa (SORUDA)”.
He is prepared to accept invitations for the
presentation of his book “PARABLES OF
MILK AND MIGHT”, as well as deliver speeches
in the following areas: non-profit organizations,
international development, management and maintenance
of public infrastructure and industrial plants,
public transportation (rail), education and
career development, rural development, etc.
