Biography:
Dr. Marcus Martin is the owner and CEO of 2M Research Services. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with offices in Washington D.C. and Atlanta, GA, 2M Research Services is an African-American owned health services and social science research consulting firm that provides governmental organizations, pharmaceutical & biotechnology firms, medical device firms, health-care organizations, and non-profit organizations with a full-range of first-class health services and social science research consulting support. 2M’s research expertise is in the areas of clinical trials monitoring, data management, biostatistics, clinical evidence-based medicine, epidemiologic research, outcomes research, cost comparative effectiveness research, patient registries, program evaluations, survey research, and medical and scientific writing.
Prior to launching his own health services research firm, Dr. Martin served as President and CEO of the Education Is Freedom Foundation and as the Director of the J. McDonald Williams Institute. Dr. Martin, a first generation college graduate who attended college on a football scholarship, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education and his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeast Louisiana University, followed by his PhD in Applied Statistics and Urban Sociology from Howard University, and then a Master of Public Health degree with concentrations in epidemiology and community health from the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health. Dr. Martin currently has adjunct faculty appointments in the School of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the College of Education at the University of North Texas in Denton.
Although Dr. Martin is a frequent guest speaker across the country on a number of social, educational and economic issues, he is most passionate about discussing his vision for eliminating AIDS in the African American Community and what we must do to improve childhood well-being in the African American Community. He is the author of the forthcoming book, The Blessing of Our Burdens, which discusses how we must begin to teach our children to remain faithful and strong as they encounter “seasons of suffering, renewal and hope."
